Food Book Privacy Policy

Your records belong to you

Effective date: August 22, 2026

Food Book is developed by Mustundead. It requires no app account and contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking tools. It does not transmit dish records, recipes, photos, or usage data to the developer or third parties, and it does not collect or share user data.

The public ingredient reference library is bundled with the app and works offline. Browsing and searching it makes no network request. When the user imports a public web link, Food Book requests that page and its publicly referenced images directly from the linked website without a developer-operated proxy. The website may receive the IP address, request time, and standard network request information under its own privacy policy. Text recognition for page images and user-selected recipe screenshots runs on the device.

The app stores user-entered records, settings, and user-selected or captured photos locally on the device. When the user enables iCloud sync, records and photos are stored in the user's private iCloud container and synchronized by their Apple account. The developer cannot access this content. Other content leaves the app only when the user explicitly invokes a system share, print, or backup export flow.

Food Book requests notification permission only when the user starts a cooking timer, so the system can alert them after the app leaves the foreground. Denying permission does not affect recording, cooking, or the in-app timer. Local records remain until the user deletes them, restores another backup, or uninstalls the app. Exported backup files, iCloud copies, and system cloud backups are controlled and deleted by the user through the relevant account and storage settings. This policy will be updated before any future feature changes these practices.
